Cow Urine as Medicine

Some alternative doctors in India swear by the healing qualities of cow urine. Cows are revered by Hindus, and the animal’s urine has been found to provide physical and spiritual healing, they say. It is supposed to be particularly helpful in treating high blood pressure, diabetes, skin disorders and obesity.
Agence France-Presse visited a village in the western state of Gujarat where workers collect about 500 liters of urine each day for medicinal purposes from 1,000 cows at a farm run by the Jagannath Hindu Temple. The urine is later distilled into a concentrate and mixed into potions and creams.
